Adzuki Bean Sprouting Seeds

Adzuki beans, also known as red beans, are rich in nutrients and can be made into a red bean paste, cooked in soups and stews and sprouted. As a sprout, adzuki beans are not only good for you, but their rich maroon colour look amazing plated or in a salad.  Sprouting adzuki seeds takes approximately 3-4 days before they are ready to eat. They can be mixed with other seed varieties and sprouted together. Adzuki beans, chickpeas, lentils, blue peas and mung beans are a fantastic combination.

Our adzuki beans can also be planted and grown to full maturity.

How to grow adzuki bean sprouts?

Here’s what you need to do: 

  1. Place 150g of adzuki beans in glass sprouter.
  2. Clean seeds - Fill glass sprouter with water, swirl water and seeds around the jar and with the lid on we turn the jar upside down and let the water drain out.
  3. Fill the jar with fresh water and soak adzuki for 8 hours.
  4. Turn jar upside down let water drain out of lid repeat step 2 and clean seeds again.
  5.  Allow water to drain for a few hours before moving onto step 6.
  6. 2-3 times a day you must repeat step 2 and clean the seeds.
  7. Continue this process until harvest.
  8. Seeds will start to form roots after 2 days.
  9. Adzuki bean sprouts will be ready to eat in 3-4 days.
